Eifel
The Eifel is a low mountain range in the German states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. Up until ten thousand years ago this area was still volcanically active and even nowadays the hills are still rising about 1 to 2 millimeters every year. There are several distinct chains within the Eifel: the North Eifel, Ahr Hills, the Snow Eifel, the Voreifel and the Vulkaneifel. Together these area's offer more than a 1000 kilometers of mountain bike trails. Populair places to stay are Bad Münstereifel, Gerolstein and Daun.
